Dr. Kathryn J. Addo to Share Nonprofit Development Opportunities at the GCDF ACCESS NETWORKING

Dr. Kathryn Addo holds a Juris Doctorate degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law, Durham, NC.  Additionally, she holds a Master of Divinity degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University and a Master of Theology (Missions) from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA.   Dr. Addo has been a licensed minister for 20 years.
Dr. Addo served as Executive Director of Sankofa Ministries, Inc. a mission outreach to Ghana, West Africa for 7 years.  She spent 14 years as a Special Educator in Title I schools in Richmond, Virginia and Charlotte, North Carolina serving socially disadvantaged youth and their families.  She has also served denominational and independent churches (nationally and internationally) as a community development and outreach leader.
Dr. Addo received training from the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) while attending seminary.  Her work focuses on using practical principles to create long-term solutions to the problems of the poor found in grassroots and church-based efforts.

Throughout her career, she has helped numerous churches, faith-based organizations, schools and nonprofit organizations improve the quality of their community-focused programs.  Dr. Addo is currently scheduled to teach a 3-part series, “Thinking of Starting a Nonprofit Organization?” through the Small Business Center Network at the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship in March 2017.
Dr. Addo has consistently been involved in the communities she lives in.  Her current community participation includes:
