Empowered Girls of NC’s Annual High Tea & Silent Auction
“Wear Your Crown & Embrace Your Royalty”
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Empowered Girls of North Carolina will sponsor its third annual High Tea & Silent Auction to raise money for girls ages 6 to 18 in the community. The event will take place on October 22, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 5p.m. at The Creative Center, 900 16th St, Greensboro, North Carolina 27405. The theme is “Wear Your Crown & Embrace Your Royalty”.
International Keynote speaker will be Nompumelelo “Mpumi” Nobiva. Mpumi’s biggest supporter is media mogul Oprah Winfrey, who she calls “Mom O”. As a 13-year-old girl, she managed to convince Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King that she was an “It” girl. Mpumi was admitted to the inaugural class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG), which opened in 2007 in Henley-on-Klip, South Africa, and graduated in 2011 amongst the top of her class. She has found her calling as a motivational speaker and now continues to give speeches around the world.
Mpumi said, “My gift is to speak. I am so pleased to use my gift to be speaking to the girls and supporters of Empowered Girls. I love their mission to ‘enhance the quality of girls’ lives by providing programming that builds integrity, respect and self-worth’. Everyone please come out to support and bring a friend to help us raise needed funds for scholarships and empowerment programs for our girls in our community.”
The event will be hosted for a second year by author and business mogul, Chisa D. Pennix-Brown, MBA, and CEO of Lady Bizness.
This event will focus on an afternoon of entertainment and fun. There will be light refreshments with a variety of teas. Guest will have opportunity to win door prizes and giveaways. The silent auction will be a must see, and will feature exquisite items thanks to various local business sponsors. If you also would like to donate items, gift cards or other to our auction to increase awareness while giving back, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is a way for EGNC and the community to come and enjoy a great event for a good cause. Their #PowerGirls [what they call their girl members ages 6 to 18] look forward to meeting everyone.
