Your mother asked me to write a letter to you because she felt like you needed some inspiration and guidance to make it in this world. She is so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. I hope this letter is right on time and will be something that you can reflect on when things don’t go the way you planned. Just know that the decisions you make today effect what your outcomes are tomorrow.
The best advice that I can give a Sister is to follow you MIND, not you HEART. The heart does things and accepts things that the mind finds terribly illogical. If you follow what you KNOW you should do instead of what you FEEL that will usually lead to a better outcome. That is not to say that you should not have dreams and goals, because you should, but make sure that they challenge you to be a better person every day. Remember that you are not in competition with anyone but yourself.
God gives us this one life to live and we have the opportunity to mess it up every day. But through HIS grace we also have the opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start over, and over, and over if necessary. So, when you need a ray of sunshine in a dark place, just look in the mirror.
